MUMBAI: In the world of film, the chance of a hit or a flop is uncertain. Nobody can claim to have a method that always works. However, genuinely talented filmmakers frequently discover their specialization and create more frequently successful movies. The 'great' Bollywood director who has produced the most failures in his career, however, is an exception to this rule.

Ram Gopal Varma has had the most failures in Bollywood history. In his 34 feature productions over the course of his career, the unconventional filmmaker has had 29 box office failures. In fact, over the course of his 30-year cinematic career, he has only been able to produce one blockbuster. 25 years ago, in 1998, with the release of Satya, he had his final genuine hit (not above average or semi-hit). RGV, as he is affectionately known, is still acknowledged as one of the most important filmmakers of his generation. That is mostly because he produced a number of cult classics, such as Shiva, Rangeela, Satya, Company, and Sarkar.
Ram Gopal Varma has produced some critically acclaimed movies since Satya, a surprise smash back in 1998, but none of them have been undisputed successes at the box office. His adaptation of The Godfather, Sarkar, was a semi-hit while his 2002 film Company had a middling box office performance. His most recent three movies failed miserably at the box office, taking in less than even Rs 1 crore. The majority of his most recent movies haven't found audiences; thus the great directors have decided to give his movies a direct digital release.
Many people have expressed shock that Rangeela and Satya's director has turned to creating videos that may be considered to be soft porn. Adult film actress Mia Malkova played the lead in his 2018 short film God, Sex, and Truth. Critics also ridiculed his most recent feature picture, 12 O'Clock. In contrast to his previous work, which was a social commentary and featured themes of solitude and suffering, many of his latest works have drawn criticism for having captivating content.
