MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput rose to fame after he starred as Manav in Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta. However, after the tragic demise of Sushant, in the memory of the actor, Ekta Kapoor joined hands with Zee India CEO, Tarun Katial to launch the Pavitra Rishta Fund to spread mental health awareness. They even made the Dil Bechara actor the face of the awareness fund. Nevertheless, SSR fans were not happy with this initiative and massively trolled filmmaker and producer Ekta Kapoor for using the actor's name and face for mental health awareness initiative. After the severe backlash from the fans, Ekta recently took to her Instagram account and announced her withdrawal from the 'Pavitra Rishta fund.'

She even mentioned that even though the initiative was not started by her, she will always be with Zee for any other mental awareness fund but for this one, she is respectfully dissociating herself. Her statement read, "While I support the cause of mental health, I disassociate myself from the 'Pavitra Rishta fund' till investigations are carried out and we have a chat picture on Sushant's unfortunate death. I withdraw myself from this fund individually as of now, as it seems that there is more to this tragic incident. Like the rest of the country, I would like the truth to come out."
Have a look.
