MUMBAI: Abhishek Bachchan's purportedly difficult period in his personal life has made him the talk of the town. According to reports, Abhishek and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are divorcing; the latter has even moved out of the Bachchan home and is now residing in a different residence. The power couple has repeatedly denied reports of their breakup, suggesting that everything is OK between them. Their supporters are certain that there is a problem between Aishwarya and Abhishek.

In the middle of all of this, an old video of Abhishek Bachchan with Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar is becoming quite popular on the internet. Before their wedding, Akshay can be seen in the video sarcastically pulling Karisma in the direction of Abhishek. While Akshay and Abhishek were dressed in suits, the actress looked great in a bodycon dress with a black tint. Netizens have been feeling nostalgic ever since this old video of Abhishek and Karisma reappeared online.
In 2002, Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan became engaged on the occasion of Big B's 60th birthday, for those who are unaware. Jaya Bachchan first revealed Karisma as her would-be bahu at a lavish function, while the latter was getting ready to get married to Abhishek. But, for reasons that are only known to them, the ex-couple ended their romance after four months.
Once, a source close to the Bachchan family disclosed the reason for Abhishek Bachchan's decision to call off his marriage to Karisma Kapoor in an article published by a popular news portal. According to the source, Abhishek called off his engagement to Karisma in 2002 because she insisted that he move out of his parent's house. With Aishwarya, though, the situation was quite different.
According to the source, "When he was engaged to Karisma Kapoor in 2002, the relationship came apart mainly because she wanted him to move out of his parents' home and live separately after marriage. She understands what it means to be close emotionally and physically to your parents, and she never demanded a home away from Jalsa."
Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan collaborated again in the Dharmesh Darshan-directed movie Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya in 2002. Nevertheless, the movie's box office performance was disappointing. Once, Darshan discussed the lead actor's equation on set with Lehren Retro, revealing that Karisma appeared preoccupied following her split from Abhishek.
The filmmaker also discussed the fallout from Abhishek and Karisma's breakup, revealing that the actress appeared unstable when the movie was being filmed. He declared, “It was the first and last time Abhishek and Karisma did a film together. Abhishek is a very sweet guy, but it wasn’t the same Lolo I’d seen during Raja Hindustani. It showed in the film. I’m not a psychiatrist, I can’t interfere in their relationship. And I was hearing both sides, I’ll be honest with you. And I’m watching also.”
