Tigmanshu Dhulia is on Cloud Nine after he recently won the Best Director’s award at the recently held third SAARC Film Festival at Colombo. While his film Paan Singh Tomar annexed the best Feature Film award for its fascinating plot, Dhulia won the Best Director’s award for the same film.
The recognition follows the National Film awards where both the film and Dhulia were named the best film and best director.
Among the other award that an Indian won was Kaushal Oza who received a Special Jury Award for his documentary Afterglow.
A panel of International jury members from Singapore, Russia and Iran adjudicated the festival. Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Employment, Promotion and Welfare Dilhan Perera presented the Awards.
Films from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka competed in both Feature and Documentary categories at the festival that was held in this week in Colombo.
