Vinay Apte
With the death of character actor Vinay Apte, who succumbed to death on Saturday evening after multiple organ failure, the entire Marathi film industry has been orphaned. The deceased actor has also been a part of many Hindai films as well. And sorely missing the departed souls will be Prakash Jha who had him featuring in his three of his films like Chakravyuh, Aarakshan and Raajneeti. Apte also played important roles in films like Chandni Bar, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local and It's Breaking News among others in Hindi and Aai Shapath, Dhamaal, Jogwa, Lalbaug Parel and Tarayache Bait all in Marathi. Paying his homage to the departed soul, story, screenplay and dialogue writer Jayant Dharmadhikari said, “Vinay Apte was a very good actor and director who had directed several stage shows (theatre) in both Hindi and Marathi. He started his career from television and was a producer of Doordarshan. He was one actor in the Marathi film industry who had a good voice and made good use of it. Though we were good friends, I never got the opportunity to work with him. May his soul rest in peace!” Apte was recently seen in Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
