Vishal Mahadkar, who made his directorial debut with Vishesh Film’s Blood Money, has been finalized to direct the fourth installment of the Raaz franchise, Raaz 4.
In fact the director is gung ho that the Bhatts have trusted him with the responsibility of taking their horror legacy forward.
The new Raaz will be a remake of the 1976 Hollywood hit The Omen that starred Gregory Peck among others.
"The story will keep Indian sensibilities in mind and also touch upon religious aspects which play an important role in our system," revealed Vishal.
Adds the director, who begins casting for the new film in December, "I am currently looking for a boy to play the evil incarnate Damien, that was originally reprised by Harvey Stephens."
It is interesting to note that Fox Star Studios has purchased the rights of this film that will be co-produced by Vishesh films. While Mahesh Bhatt had penned the original, this version will be written by Vikram Bhatt.
The film is slated to go on floors in February next year.
