When Ananya Panday was brutally trolled

MUMBAI: Being a part of the entertainment industry has its pros and cons. Being under the constant scrutiny of the paparazzi, audience, and critics is no cakewalk. From unfortunate incidents going viral to being the targets of trolls, a lot happens.

One Bollywood star who has often been trolled is Ananya Panday. Despite being only three movies old, the 22-year-old has often been made fun of. Be it on her spelling errors on a Twitter post or her infamous comments on nepotism, the actress has often been meme material.

Have a look at a few times when she was mocked on social media.

Being body-shamed
In a recent interview, Ananya recalled being body-shamed and shared that she was made fun of for her assets even before she set her foot in showbiz. “I would go out with my parents and as I said, I was very thin. People used to say I look like a boy, a flatscreen, and all those kinds of things,” she was quoted.

On her nepotism comment
During the Newcomers Roundtable, Ananya drew a flak on her opinion of nepotism. The actress had said, “It isn't as easy as people say it is. I think everyone has their own journey. My dad has never been a part of the Dharma film. He has never been on 'Koffee with Karan'.” This did not go down well with a section of the audience who trolled her for considering a coffee show as a barometer of success. This one went for days at a stretch.

Mocked for her dressing sense
Ananya has also been trolled for her sartorial picks. One of the pictures that invited jokes was when she stepped in a long white hoodie. Have a look.

Trolled for a typo

In 2019, a minor typo had given trolls to have a field day. It was when the actress had shared a picture of her with Shanaya Kapoor and Suhana Khan. Ananya had misspelled the word Angels as her caption read, “Charlie’s Angele”, only to delete the post and retweet again. However, trolls had got to work by that time.
