When 'Godfather' Al Pacino's painting stunned Gulshan Grover

The City’s A-Listers were in attendance at the preview of Nawaz Modi Singhania’s new solo art exhibition titled “Portrait Study of Well Known Personalities” held in south Mumbai, this weekend. From Mumbai’s most powerful woman Nita Ambani to actresses Raveena Tandon, Juhi Chawla, Perizad Zorabian to politician Shaina NC to corporate chieftains Nikhil Meswani, Niraj Bajaj, Ashok Wadhwa, Yohan Poonawala, Tanya Godrej Dubash, Vijay Kalantari to advertising giants Alyque Padamsee, Sam & Lara Balsara, Bharat Dabholkar, Kailash Surendranath, Prahlad Kakkar, Nawaz’s art exhibition was a well-attended one. But one man who caught everyone’s attention was Bollywood’s bad man, Gulshan Grover. When Gulshan saw Al Pacino's Godfather Portrait made by Nawaz, he stood there simply transfixed by the beauty of the painting. He posed several times with the Al Pacino portrait for his personal collection. In fact, eyewitnesses say that Gulshan was so fascinated by it that he asked his friends Gautam Singhania & Nawaz to give him the portrait at any cost. But as luck would have it, someone had already bought the painting. When Gulshan was informed about the same, instead of beating a sulky retreat, he said he was ready to up the bid and also sought an auction to be held. Last heard, Gulshan was still trying everything in his power to make that painting his own.
