Recently the team came together for a special media event where they also interacted with fans. Aaliyah Qureishi, who played the role of Jhanvi in Jawan, shared how it was like a homecoming for all of them.
She shared that given they worked together for two years, the team has become like a family. “And to see it resonating with so many people is too exciting,” the actor told indianexpress.com.
In an earlier chat with us, the musician-turned-actor had opened up about her experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan, and how it was ‘learning experience’ even to be around him.
While she did not shoot with Deepika Padukone in Jawan, Aaliyah said that it was really nice to meet her during the screening, and even later at the party in Mannat.
Ask her if she missed working with Deepika and pat came the reply, “Koi baat nahi, agli picture kar lenge (We will work together again). But it was really nice to party with her.”
Talking about Nayanthara, Aaliyah Qureishi called her a ‘powerful’ woman both on and off-screen. She also mentioned how the superstar was kind to her since the time they met. “We have seen her take on a new journey as she even welcomed her babies. It was really fun to have her around.”
On a final note, the young actor spoke about Vijay Sethupati and showered him with words of praise. Aaliyah mentioned how they did not get time to work together or sit and chat during Jawan shoot.
She said, “So I met him at a party after one of the Jawan events and got a chance to speak to him. I usually ask all senior actors about the advice they have for young actors. He was so amazing, he gave me a full masterclass on acting at the party. What impresses me most about him is how he is dedicated toward his craft. He is so honest about approaching his characters. Even though he’s such a great actor, he would push the boundaries to do better. He would actually get an acting coach on set sometimes to help him brainstorm to elevate the scenes. He doesn’t need it but he still has a lot of humility.”
Jawan is on a roll at the box office having netted more than Rs 518 crore in two weeks. Globally, the Atlee-directed movie passed the Rs 900 crore mark recently.
