Yash Raj Films announces release dates of its upcoming movies
Yash Raj Films (YRF) has announced the release dates of its slate of films that are scheduled to release this year (2014) and the year next (2015). Mardaani The first film would be the Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani that is due for release on 22 August. The film is the story of Shivani Shivaji Roy an astute cop who works in a Mumbai Crime Branch unit. Deft at picking up hidden clues and fearless in confronting hardened criminals, Shivani stumbles on a case that will change her life forever. The film, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, has been produced by Aditya Chopra. Dawaat-E-Ishq Next to release is the Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor-starrer Daawat-E-Ishq that is to release on 5 September. The film is a deliciously romantic coming together of Gulrez “Gullu” Qadir (Parineeti Chopra) a Hyderabadi shoe-sales girl disillusioned with love because of her encounters with dowry-seeking men and Tariq “Taru” Haidar (Aditya Roy Kapoor) a Lucknowi cook who can charm anybody with the aroma and flavours of his biryani and kebabs. The film has been written and directed by Habib Faisal. Happy New Year The next film is the Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year that is scheduled to release in Diwali this year. The film, that also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff & Vivaan Shah, is an action-packed musical heist. The film being produced by Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. is to be distributed worldwide exclusively by YRF. Kill Dil Following is Kill Dil that releases on 14 November. Once upon a time two killers – Dev (Ranveer Singh) and Tutu (Ali Zafar), roamed free in North India. Abandoned when young and vulnerable, Bhaiyaji (Govinda) gave them shelter and nurtured them to kill. All is normal in their lives until destiny throws free spirited Disha (Parineeti Chopra) into the mix. What follows is a game of defiance, deception and love. The film has been directed by Shaad Ali. Titli Next comes Titli that has been directed by Kanu Behl. In the badlands of Delhi's dystopic underbelly, Titli, the youngest member of a violent car-jacking brotherhood plots a desperate bid to escape the 'family' business. His struggle to do so is countered at each stage by his indignant brothers, who finally try marrying him off to 'settle' him. Titli finds an unlikely ally in his new wife, caught though she is in her own web of warped reality and dysfunctional dreams. They form a strange, beneficial partnership, only to confront their inability to escape the bindings of their family roots. But is escape, the same as freedom? The date of the release of the film that stars Ranveer Shorey, Amit Sial and introducing Shashank Arora is still to be announced. The film has been produced by Dibakar Banerjee. Byomkesh Bakshy! Next to release on 13 February, 2015 is Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! In a contemporary interpretation of war torn Calcutta during the 1940’s, the film follows the first adventure of Byomkesh (Sushant Singh Rajput), fresh out of college, as he pits himself against an evil genius who is out to destroy the world. It’s his wits against the most villainous arch criminal the world has seen, in a world of murder, international political intrigue and seduction. The film starring Sushant Singh Rajput has been directed and produced by Dibakar Banerjee. Bank-Chor Then comes the comic-caper Bank-Chor that tells the story of three morons trying to rob a bank who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong and how they’re inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt netas. Starring Kapil Sharma, the film to be directed by Bumpy is to be produced by Ashish Patil under the banner of Y-Films Production. The film releases on 6 March. Dum Laga Ke Haisha The film to follow next is Dum Laga Ke Haisha. From overcoming his fear of the English language to deal with an overbearing father, Prem (Ayushmann Khurrana) discovers that his oversized and mismatched wife Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar), who he thought was a spanner in his business and life, will actually lead him to something quite cool. The film, to be directed by Sharad Kataria, is to be produced by Maneesh Sharma. Fan Finally, it will be the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Fan that would release on 14 August next year. Surprisingly, the man unarguably with one of the greatest fan following globally will now play the role of being the biggest fan himself in this forthcoming movie. The film, written by Habib Faisal and directed by Maneesh Sharma, is to be produced by Aditya Chopra.
