This year has been good for the ladies. From playing feisty roles to giving box office takkar to their male counterparts, actresses have shown what they are capable of.
We can even safely assume that this year (and years that will follow) will see women ruling BO. We round up five of the most powerful actresses of 2015…take a look:
Deepika Padukone:
As Piku and Mastani, Padukone gave a tough competition to other actresses with her versatility. From playing a loving daughter to a love-struck princess, Deepu paved a way for other ladies to follow suit. What’s commendable is that Deepu has had just an eight-year run in the industry. She’s already one of the top actresses of B-Town.
Priyanka Chopra:
She is the real superstar of Bollywood, who can play any role with ease. Whether it’s the devoted wife Kashibai or an ass-kicking FBI agent or the SP of an interior village, PeeCee is the girl for it. She’s also media-friendly, has an enviable social presence, and of course a killer dress sense.
Kangna Ranaut:
She’s called the queen for nothing, after all! Her dual role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns has cemented her place in Bolly land. Despite her modest beginnings, the actress has been making steady strides. We can’t wait for 2016 and Ranaut’s movies. She is not just a bold actress, but also a brazen girl in real life. Salute!
Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan:
She had been missing from the scene for a long time, but her comeback vehicle has definitely launched her career once again. Jazbaa may have had mixed reviews at the BO, but her credible performance and crackling screen-stealing looks were much appreciated by the critics.
Kajol:
Another superstar, who was on a hiatus, made a comeback of sorts with Dilwale this year. As we are typing this, the movie is raking big bucks at the box office. Her renewed looks, svelte figure and reel romance with SRK are just a bunch of things that made us flock to the theaters.
