The Khan power: SRK and Salman together on Colors

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan
Looks like Colors has managed to do a Baba Siddiqui with Salman and Shah Rukh Khan (SRK). The leading channel has in a major coup of sorts signed SRK to host their new live show, the announcement of which will be made at a suburban five star tomorrow. The show will be on the lines of the hugely popular international series, Got Talent. By sealing this deal, Colors has managed to get two warring superstars together on the same channel, something that was hitherto unimaginable. The indications for the same were there for all to see. It all started with SRK arriving as a chief guest at a special bash thrown by Colors last year. The absence of Salman, and Colors' CEO, the dynamic Raj Nayak's visible bonhomie with SRK at the event gave rise to speculations of him having replaced Salman as the host for this year's Bigg Boss. However, those rumours soon came to a naught with the channel choosing to go ahead with Salman once again for Bigg Boss. Just when one thought King Khan's appearance at Colors party was just a mere coincidence, in came news of the actor opening Anupam Kher's talk show, Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai as the first guest. It was obvious that SRK was being accorded special status by the channel and there seemed to be something more to this bonding than what actually met the naked eye. It was during this time speculations about SRK being roped in for Bigg Boss intensified. Salman too preferred to keep his cards close to his chest and remained tight lipped when we asked him about Bigg Boss. Of course, there was always the risk of antagonising Salman had Colors gone ahead with SRK for Bigg Boss. Also, whether SRK would have been comfortable stepping into Salman's hosting shoes remains another question. Thankfully, Colors seemed to have worked out a perfect compromise formula much to everybody's convenience. Not only have they retained Salman as the host for a higher base price but have also managed to ensnare SRK for a brand new show that will undoubtedly garner huge TRPs. The real problem would arise if one show earns more TRPs than the other. The channel would undoubtedly be the winner but will it make the Khans happy. Well, that remains to be seen. The real blockbuster would however unfold if Salman would invite SRK to grace Bigg Boss. Now if that happens, Colors would definitely end up grabbing maximum eyeballs in the history of Indian television ever.
