An interview with Prashant Narayanan is akin to sitting and chit chatting with your buddy. The man is frank, honest and doesn't mince words which means his conversation is invariably peppered with a lot of words that one has to unfortunately censor.
Back on the small screen in a new avatar, Prashant is quite excited about playing a baddie in Vipul Shah's Pukaar. Talking about his role Prashant says, "I promise you it will be the most entertaining character ever seen on Life OK. Also the flamboyance I display, I am sure will be something that has never before been seen on Indian television."
Prashant doesn't mind being time and again chosen by filmmakers to play roles with grey shades. Infact, he proudly calls his character in Pukaar black. "My character has no grey shades. It's black. Pitch black."
Vipul Shah's vision of making Pukaar more like a 24 hour film is what made Prashant say yes to the project."Vipul and I go back a long way. He is a close friend but that doesn't mean I have to say yes to everything he asks me to do. There have been projects of Vipul to which I have said no, but when he explained his vision for this one, I was impressed by the scale and magnitude. This will be something that audience have never before seen on TV. That's what made me interested in Pukaar."
While Prashant has won accolades for his negative performances the actor believes that there are other shades of his acting that still remains unexposed. "Many of my good films have remained unreleased. I have played good roles in different cinema but that has largely remained unnoticed."
Well, good or bad, we have to say Prashant leaves a mark with every role of his.
