The International World Aids Day was celebrated on 1 December across the globe with an awareness created to help stay away from the deadly virus.
TV’s popular face, Ssumier S Pasricha seen in Sasural Simar Ka took up the initiative ‘Red Ribbon’ organised by The Ensemble Entertainment and helped the team create awareness about AIDS.
Shares Ssumier, “I think celebrities have a social responsibility against such causes, as people look up to us and follow whatever we say or do. Since I was also associated with the team last year (Red Ribbon), they asked me if I was interested on coming on board this year too, and I happily agreed. The team is doing a fantastic job and I was proud to be associated and help them in this noble mission.”
Ssumeir also managed to tag along co star Jayati Bhatia for the initiative. “This being an important issue, I asked Jayati if she would like to be a part of the movement and she readily agreed for it. We both have shot for the video bytes that will be played across events being planned by the team.”
Apart from video shout outs, the actor also shot for a short film with the team. Talking more on that, he said, “The video shows that I forget to wear the AIDS awareness red ribbon and the watchman makes me realise that. It is to project that how the lower class people today have much more awareness about it than us. Interestingly the video was shot in my building with my watchman (smiles). It was great fun shooting for the video.”
And finally concluding the matter, Ssumeir said, “I personally believe that people should spread the awareness and not the virus.”
It’s time we too support the cause.
