Rituraj Singh, not Shahbaz Khan to play the coach in Diya Aur Baati Hum

Rituraj Singh and Shahbaz Khan

Shashi-Sumeet Productions’ popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus will now focus on the protagonist Sooraj’s (Anas Rashid) struggle to do well in the kabaddi team.

The makers were on the lookout for a commanding actor to play the role of the kabaddi coach in this very important track ahead.

Our readers would remember about an exclusive article going up on Tellychakkar.com about seasoned actor Shahbaz Khan being roped in for the role. However, there seems to be a last minute replacement there….

News coming in is that talented actor Rituraj Singh who was last seen in Colors’ Beintehaa has now bagged the prized role. Rituraj, as we know is presently seen in Warrior High on MTV.

The actor has started shoot from today, is what we hear.

When contacted, Rituraj Singh confirmed the news saying, “Yes, this is a very different and nice role. The coach, Mahendra Singh will be a powerful man, well established in his game. He will be a no-nonsense guy, strict and stern when it comes to the game. I am glad to get back to Star Plus after a long time; my last show with them was K. Street Pali Hill.”

Here’s wishing Rituraj a great Diya Baati journey…
