Bengali actor Pijush Ganguly and dancer Malabika Sen have been left severely injured in a major accident.
The duo’s car crashed into a bus on Santragachi Rail-over Bridge in Howrah district of West Bengal on Tuesday.
A top district police official said, that the two were coming back together to Kolkata, from a show on the occasion of Durga Puja Mahasaptami. Their MUV collided head-on with a Howrah-East Midnapore passenger bus near Kona Expressway
According to reports, Pijush was driving his car towards Kolkata and collided with a Medinipur bound bus on Santragachi Bridge at around 4 pm.
The actors were rushed to Howrah General Hospital and later shifted to Bellevue Clinic in Kolkata. They are said to be currently in the ICU in a serious but stable state. Both of them have received head injuries.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee also visited them in the hospital.
“The bus driver escaped but the vehicle was seized”, police official was reportedly quoted in the media.
