Oooh…la…la! Yes, this is what you will say after watching Shama Sikander’s bold avatar in Shailendra Singh’s short film ‘Sexaholic’.
Well, the film title says it all and her steamy scenes have already gained millions of views on YouTube. While chatting to Tellychakkar.com, the actress spoke about the film, her experience, intimacy and more.
How did this idea come across?
Shailendra Singh is a very good friend. It was his idea to have me in his film. When I heard the script, I was really angry and asked him how he could even approach me for this. He calmed me down and told me to think about it. After a lot of research, I understood the depth of the character. I watched a few films to understand the role. In India, sex is considered a taboo. People can’t talk about it openly.
Where you comfortable doing bold scenes in the film?
Firstly, it takes a lot of courage to play such a role. The film is more about emotion than skin show. I was very comfortable. But more than me, Shailendra was very shy and used to laugh before the scenes. To make me comfortable, there were only few important people in the room while shooting for the scene.
Is Shama all about bold in real life as well?
If honesty means boldness… then yes, I am bold.
Are you a sexoholic in real life?
Everyone has their own fantasies and desires…I am passionate and a sexaholic in real life too.
You are compared to Poonam Pandey, how do you react to it?
I don’t know why I am being compared to her. We have unique personalities and there’s no need to pit us against each other.
Was your boyfriend fine with you doing bold scenes?
Yes, very much. In fact, he has helped me a lot in research. I am really happy to have him in my life. He is big-hearted person who stands by me, encourages and supports me. He understands me very well and that’s why we connect well.
Are you not bothered being typecast?
I am already being typecast. People are now approaching me for bold films. But by now, the industry should know my talent. Through this film I have shown everyone that I can act well. Nobody can overpower you if you have talent.
What kind of response have you received from masses?
Amazingggg! People are just loving it. Any actor would die to portray such a role. I am glad to be a part of this film and thank Shailendra for considering me for his project.
Keep up the good work, Shama!
