Geetanjali Mishra, popularly known for her saree-clad negative portrayal in Colors’ Rangrasiya is seen in a new avatar presently on Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum (Shashi Sumeet Productions).
Playing the head of the team who steal young girls and selling them off for money in this huge child-trafficking track, Geetanjali has gotten a good response for her character of Shilpi.
Shilpi, as we know, is dabang, at the same time is stylish seen in an Indo-Western getup.
For Geetanjali, it is the negative role that usually draws her attention.
Says the actress, “One need not think and put the mind to work when playing a positive role. All you need to do is to sweet talk and cry when necessary. However, in a negative role, you need to think a lot and come up with unique mannerisms, accent and attitude.”
Geetanjali is happy to be back to Star Plus after a long time. The lady is doing her best to get into the skin of the character. “I have been reading quite a lot of books. Also, seeing old films helps, as one can get to know of the body language of such people. I like this character a lot because I will get quite a lot of variations in it. Shilpi can very easily change her look, and viewers will see her getting into new avatars, in order to get what she wants.”
Best of luck, Geetanjali for the role!!
