Adaa Khan

Good things come in small packages, they say!

The young and lively Adaa Khan can mesmerize anyone with her good looks, sensuous eyes and sparkling smile.

She tasted success on TV with Amrit Manthan and nobody knew that her stars will shine bright with her portrayal of Shesha in Colors’ Naagin

Adaa is single and happy-go-lucky girl, career and family is her first priority.

In an interview with Tellychakkar.com, Adaa got chatty about Naagin season 2. Excerpts:

As there are three antagonists (Adaa, Aashka Goradia, Sudha Chandran) in this season, how much pressure do you have to out shine them?

I don’t think we need to worry about it as everyone has their own individual characters.

Has Naagin made you a star?

Yes, Naagin has been the turning point for my career. It has given me success and the love of audience. It has definitely given a boost to my career.

How much do you miss working with Arjun Bijlani?

I understand that everyone loved the trio of me, Arjun and Mouni and we shared a bond on TV. But I am looking forward to our chemistry with Karanvir. I hope people accept this new trio as well.

How has life changed post Naagin?

I enjoy the attention when people come to me and address me as a Naagin didi and Naagin madam. Sometimes I wonder do I laugh on it or feel weird about it. But now I have accepted that in spite of playing a negative character people still love me.

After being part of Comedy Night Bachao, are you more comfortable with the roast format?

Yes, Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh have made me a thick skinned person. It was delightful to work with them. Both of them always motivated me to work harder.

Do you think that you are yet to reach the list of A-listed actors?

If you don’t consider yourself an A-listed actor you will never grow in life. That insecurity will always be there. I am happy where I am today.

Why not play a main lead in a show?

As an actor you need to experiment with roles. After playing positive and negative roles, I tried my hands in comedy. I want to keep the fire within me alive or else I will end up doing the same thing the whole life.

Which one you find more challenging- playing a positive or a negative character?

Of course playing a negative character because when you play such roles you are not in your comfort zone. Positive characters are not challenging as negative ones.

How much Pratyusha’s sudden death affected you?

I have understood one thing that in life everyone goes through heartbreaks and darkest phases of life. But it’s important to get up and move on.

Do you think that in the entertainment industry, friends are only for benefits?

I have very limited friends in the industry and they have stood by me in my good as well as bad times.

After breakup with Ankit Gera, will you date an actor again?

I don’t plan things in life. Right now my focus is on my family and Naagin. In my free time I pack my bags and go out for trips. So, I am really not thinking about all this.
