Actress Swastika Mukherjee turned a year older today (13 December). The stylish lady, who appears in Bengali flicks, is known for her powerful acting. She has acted in films like Saheb Bibi Golaam, Jaatishwar, Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends and many others.

She got married at the age of 18 and has a daughter. She shares a friendly relationship with her daughter. The mother-daughter duo can often be seen hanging out together and having fun. On motherhood, she said to a daily, “I enjoy motherhood and treat Mani as my friend rather than as a daughter.”
She made her acting debut with the TV serial Devdasi and her first film was Hemanter Pakhi. Later, the actress went on to work in a number of commercial as well as offbeat films.
The Bengali film Bhooter Bhabishyat, saw her playing the role of Kadalibala Dasi, an actress ghost from the 1940s. She earned accolades for her performance. And you know readers, she actually dubbed for the film by holding her nose for that nasal tone!
She once chopped her hair for a film called 033.
