We should be afraid of his possibility: Streep on Trump

Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep says people should be "afraid" of US President Donald Trump and his "possibility".
After Streep criticized Trump during her Cecil B. DeMille acceptance speech at the 2017 Golden Globes for seemingly mocking a disabled reporter, the then president-elect fired back by saying Streep is "one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood".

Comedian Stephen Colbert brought up Trump's criticism when he introduced Streep earlier this month at his annual onstage conversation to raise money for Montclair Film, the New Jersey film festival organiser Colbert has long supported.

Calling the president's tweet, "perhaps the greatest honour she has ever been given," the "Late Show..." host read the missive with his Trump impersonation as he brought Streep to the stage.

The moment was far from the only time the pair talked about Trump, with Streep later saying that she thinks "we should be afraid" of "his possibility," reports by media.

During the nearly two-hour-long discussion, Streep recalled her early days as an actress and memorable experiences on the stage and screen.

She spoke about her role in the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns and shared some of her favourite recent movie releases, raving about A Star is Born and other award hopefuls.

Colbert asked her about empathising with the characters she plays. "What's it like for you to see somebody who is the President of the United States who is the top politician who is indifferent to the idea of empathy? I'm not sure he knows what you mean when you say it."

Streep gave a sobering assessment of Trump.

"I'm scared. I'm scared by him, by his possibility," she said.

"And I do empathise with him. I can't imagine what his 3 a.m. is like. There's a gathering storm - everyone feels it, he feels it. His children are in jeopardy, and I feel that.

"I think, 'What if my children were in jeopardy?' I would do anything - anything - to get them out of trouble. So we should be afraid. That's what I think."

One Direction might reunite for Christmas

Singer Liam Payne has hinted that he will reunite with his former One Direction bandmates for Christmas.

He kicked off Capital's Jingle Bell Ball in the UK capital on Saturday when performing with Lennon Stella in front of 16,000 people.

But before his grand entrance on stage, he spoke behind the scenes with host Roman Kemp about visiting the members of the band during the festive period, reports of leading publication.

He said, "I spoke to Niall (Horan), we spent like four hours on FaceTime, I hadn't spoken to him in ages. I hope to (see him over Christmas). I mean, the thing about it is I can understand that we're all quite tired.

"Like I was saying to him the other night, 'Oh I'll come over or whatever' and then he flaked me twice so I was like ‘look, listen, I'll just text you next week and we'll see what's happening. Just let me know when you're available'."

He continued, "Everyone's so busy, it is what it is. I obviously saw Louis (Tomlinson) over the course of The X Factor.

"I haven't seen Harry (Styles) in a while now but I think everybody's in London at the moment, which is cool, for the first time. The closest we've been in the band in a while."

One Direction went on a hiatus in January 2016 and the five members, including Zayn Malik, have all enjoyed successful solo careers.

But the band is suffering a rumoured rift with Zayn, who announced his departure from the group in 2015.

Earlier this month, Tomlinson appeared to hit back at Zayn's new diss track Good years, hours after its release, tweeting, "Proper confused. What a hypocrite!"

Cardi B, Offset didn't split 'for publicity'

Rapper Cardi B has opened up on her split from Offset saying that she didn't do it for publicity.

When Cardi B announced last week that she and Offset had split, fans were shocked.

Many even believed she wasn't being truthful, as the two had put on a public display of affection onstage at the 2018 102.7 KIIS-FM Jingle Ball just days prior, and had made her announcement to generate publicity for Offset's new album, which is set for release on 14 December.

In an Instagram Live session on Sunday, which was watched by more than 100,000 people including actress Lindsay Lohan, Cardi debunked the rumours, reports of media.

"I really don't like how people say me and my husband - whatever he is right now to me - is doing it for publicity," she said.

"I wouldn't put my family in a bad name for no f**king publicity because at the end of the day, 10 years from now, my daughter, she's gonna be looking at these type of things and she's gonna be asking me about these type of things."

"I've been seeing a lot of people say that my relationship was fake," she continued.

"There's certain things called love. People do fall in love. Like, my relationship was never fake. I met this n***a, he was on my a**, I gave him a chance and we fell in love with each other. Things were not always gravy because at the end of the day, we are two different people. But we never did anything for f**king publicity. You think I got f**king pregnant, could have ruined my career for f**king publicity?"

Cardi secretly wed Offset last year. The two share a four-month-old baby girl, Kulture.

Cardi said in an Instagram video on Tuesday last week that she and Offset were "not together anymore". She rapped about their upcoming divorce onstage on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, Offset tweeted, "F**K Y'all I miss Cardi."

Beckinsale wears 'Queen' tiara for dinner date

Actress Kate Beckinsale chose to wear a pair of suede knee-high boots, all-black ensemble and a tiara that boasted the word 'Queen' in gold letters for her outing with friends here.

She stepped out for a dinner date with her friends on Saturday night here, reports of leading publication.

She left her brunette hair down in voluminous curls that fell past her shoulders and were parted in the middle, and favoured a glamorous yet minimal make-up look.

Beckinsale was joined by a slew of friends who sported fake moustaches.

Gabrielle Union's husband told her to move from IVF

Actress Gabrielle Union admits it was husband Dwyane Wade who first told her to move on from IVF on Oprah Winfrey show introducing daughter Kavvia.

After a long journey, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have welcomed their daughter Kavvia into the world via surrogate, reports by media.

And the glowing parents introduced their baby to Oprah Winfrey when they had the chat show icon over to their house for a new OWN special about their experience.

Gabrielle, 46, said that being so public about her fertility struggles was important to her because 'People feel seen. They feel like they're not alone.'

She explained that "so many people are suffering in silence and every time, when we're candid and transparent about our journeys, no matter what those journeys are, you are allowing people to be seen and heard and empowered in ways that they've never been."

Dwyane dished that during labor "We were there for 36 hours, just waiting in a room, waiting on her arrival" - and that they were involved throughout the pregnancy.

His wife said they were "trying to feel as a part of the birth process as possible, since it's happening outside of both of us. But it's been a long - a long journey."

Davina McCall ready to find another man

After her 17 years long marriage to Matthew Robinson crumbled, television personality and model Davina McCall says she is ready to find a new man who will stand next to her as a partner.

The TV presenter, 51, divorced from husband of 17 years last year and now feels ready to start dating again, reports of leading publication.

"What I want is, I want men - and this is for my daughters and for my son and this is for me - to stand next to me as a partner. So everything is a partnership," she said.

With traditional gender roles changing, McCall told TV host Matt Johnson and life coach Ben Bidwell on The Naked Professors podcast series that finding someone supportive is the most important quality she is looking for.

"It's not like ‘I'm going to be at work all day and I'm going to cook dinner for you. We are in a massive time of change. It's like ‘this is how you can be a man, and find your way as a man and stand next to a woman and support her and she will support you'," she said.

The former Big Brother presenter has opened up about her past battles with mental health, revealing that she spent years trying to fill a "hole in her heart" with "drugs and boys".

Tara Reid to sue Sharknado producers for $100 million

Actress Tara Reid is taking the Sharknado producers to court.

Reid has accused the producers of the films of misappropriating her likeness and image "for a commercial purpose without her consent," including slot machines and alcoholic beverages, according to court documents filed on December 6 and obtained by The Blast, reports by media.

She is now suing Asylum Entertainment and SYFY Media Productions for $100 million in damages.

A representative for Reid did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

The documents state that "(Reid) alleges that defendants and each of them without her knowledge and prior written consent misappropriated her likeness for the commercial purpose of endorsing by implication gambling products and alcoholic beverages."

The suit claims that the defendants "wrongfully licensed the rights to use Tara Reid's likeness (which they do not own) to manufacturers of slot machines, gambling products, and beer makers, who in turn have marketed their products with her likeness, and continue to wrongfully trade and profit therefrom."

As a result, Reid, who stars as April Wexler in the films, alleges that the defendants made "millions of dollars in profits - from the marketing, sale, lease, and distribution of Sharknado slot machines bearing the likeness of Plaintiff Tara Reid," the documents state.

As to why she's suing for $100 million, the documents explain, "As such, the actions of the Defendants were malicious and oppressive and justify an award of punitive and exemplary damages in an amount sufficiently large to set a public example of deterrence, and in an amount no less than $100,000,000.00."

She is suing for false endorsement and misappropriation of celebrity likeness, as well as common law wrongful appropriation of likeness and breach of written contract.

She is also requesting "preliminary and permanent injunctive relief" and demanding a jury trial.

Catelynn Baltierra defends Tyler's decision to live separately

Reality TV personality Catelynn Baltierra has defended her marriage with Tyler Baltierra while hitting at internet trolls.

The Teen Mom OG star issued a statement (that has since been deleted) on Instagram on Friday that dispelled speculation that she and her husband Tyler may be considering a divorce, reports of media.

"Yes we are having a 30 day reflection time. No we are not getting a divorce!" wrote Catelynn, 26.

"Yes I know what I put him and nova through when I left for treatment! He was amazing and supported me the whole time! I also knew I had to go so I wouldn't commit suicide!" she continued.

Catelynn, who was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, went to rehab in November 2017 to seek treatment for suicidal thoughts, and then again in early January to overcome childhood trauma.

"I am supporting what he wants now! We love each other and always will!" she concluded, referencing his decision to live separately for a month.

Catelynn captioned the post, "So my family would of been better off if I just took my own life? No! Now Goodbye and I'm done explaining myself! #loveyourself #loversandfriends #myhusband."
