MUMBAI: Beauty pageant winner Tanushree Dutta has acted in films like Dhol, Speed, and Aashiq Banaya Aapne. The actress who is said to have started India’s own #MeToo movement revealed that the war against Nana Patekar had a severe toll on her parents' health.
In an interview with SpotboyE.com, Tanushree said, "My dad developed discomfort and certain tests suggested that something was wrong with his heart. We took him to a leading cardiologist. Things refused to settle down and he developed pain in stomach. A leading gastroenterologist treated him but we were clearly told that it was all due to stress and anxiety. Memories came rolling back to him. Remember, we were all in the car when I was brutally attacked 10 years ago. And how can one forget the threats that followed? I advised him to take to meditation."
The actress added, "I remember I was supposed to go back abroad and when I debated owing to his healthscare, I was told that I should rather leave so that he gets fine. I am his daughter and he is very close to me, he had taken everything very personally. I still can't forget how skinny he had become during that period. Meanwhile, mom had a gall-bladder issue. And trust me, even that had manifested due to anxiety. She underwent a surgery. Dad was taken to Vellore after multiple rounds of treatment, where he was eventually told by the doctors that he is okay now- but not before he was told that he'll have to not think about the last year happening. His health had been terrible for a period of as many as 8 months. He was on 10-12 tablets a day, and in fact, he is still on many of those.”
