Prajakta Koli speaks about her debut video on Youtube

Prajakta shares details on how she started her debut video

MUMBAI: Prajakta Koli is an Indian YouTube personality who makes comedy videos. She is popularly known by her YouTube name MostlySane. Her videos are mostly comical takes on her observation of everyday life situations.

She previously was an RJ and worked with the radio station 104 FM. Post that she launched her channel on 12 February 2015.

She has collaborated with mainstream Bollywood actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurana, Vicky Kaushal, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and more along with digital stars like Lilly Singh, Collins Key, Bhuvan Bam, Ashish Chanchalani, Be YouNick, Sanya Malhotra among others.

She  recently joined hands with Michelle Obama fo working for issues like Girl Education.

The young achiever said that shared her experience on how it felt making her first debut video.

She said to a leading portal that the first video was called Types of singles on Valentine’s Day and it was uploaded on 12 February 2015, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, it was the most clickable content.

She decided to be on YouTube as she could make the decision, and be the content partner and solely decide what will go up. She believes that she can take the call for what she is comfortable in doing and she can see what people’s reaction is to the content that has been put out.

She also shared views on competition on social media and how to survive in this environment. She said, the one thing she learnt from youtube is that any channel can survive if it has its own individual take because there is so much content in a generalised way.

Also, the audience on YouTube is not dedicated to one channel and watches a number of channels at the same time. Although the content overlaps somewhere, they are all going to get viewership if they have our individual take towards it.

As  she started she was compared to many, and she believes it was right as all the references she had taken from other YouTubers.

So, her instant reaction was to make content and to pick a little bit of style from some YouTubers and delivery from others. Going forward, she tried making videos, going through this rigorous trial and error with her content.

She kept on putting out new content and taking feedback as to what is working with her set of audience and what is not. She soon realised that the audience likes it when she is real.

There is a reason she absolutely hates makeup, but she used to wear a lot of it because she was super insecure with everything when she was on camera. When she put up a video in her pyjamas without any makeup, everyone loved it.
