Big Two-Hero Bollywood Project Next To Land Up Straight To OTT?

There’s strong buzz in the market that the John Abraham – Emran Hashmi starrer ‘Mumbai Saga’ will skip theatres and release directly on OTT.

MUMBAI: The next Bollywood There’s strong buzz in the market that the John Abraham – Emran Hashmi starrer ‘Mumbai Saga’ will skip theatres and release directly on OTT. As per reports in the media, T-Series, the producers of the movie, are in talks with Amazon Prime Video for a direct premiere of the movie on its platform.  

Mumbai Saga has several parts of the movie remaining to be shot. At least ten days worth of shooting remains. Producer Bhushan Kumar had hoped to release the movie in the theatres since John Abraham movies are a big draw for viewers in the theatres, given the larger than life action moves and killer stunts.

But considering the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic rages uncontrolled in the country, and theatres are nowhere close to reopening, Bhushan Kumar has had a change of heart and is seriously contemplating the option of releasing Mumbai Saga directly on OTT.  

Talks are on between Bhushan Kumar and Amazon Prime Video, over the financials and other important issues. Once those are worked out to the liking of all stakeholders, we can safely expect Mumbai Saga to release on Amazon Prime Video.
