Why I went to USA

A page from the personal diary of Sachin Sharma After working in a number of successful shows like Kahani Ghar Ghar ki, Tumhari Disha, K Street Pali Hill, Saat Phere and Parivar, when I look back at my career I do feel satisfied and content at the way things have shaped up. Right from my school days, I have been interested in acting and I have tried my luck in various modes -- theatre, films and television. I feel I am more comfortable in front of the camera than away from it!
Few know that I have done a film called Mummyji and a bit of theatre before getting into television serials. I have also been an anchor and reporter with Zee and Sahara channels for quite sometime. But after spending a long time in the television industry, I started feeling an urge to explore the film industry. When I looked at actors like Om Puri, Kavir Bedi, Irfan Khan and Anil Kapoor, I felt that films can also give me an exposure in the international arena. Something the television world cannot offer me right now. Though I feel in the near future, we will see that on offer as well. While working on these thoughts, I planned a trip to Los Angeles a couple of months back. I wanted to combine a personal and professional trip. A trip where I could spend time leisurely, as well as learn about how things worked there in Hollywood. I always wanted to have a look at Universal Studios, Kodak Studios and understand the way they have used technology. I was amazed with what I saw. The way they intersperse technology and creativity is mindblowing. We should all visit that place whenever possible. I stayed in LA for almost a month and visited all the places I wanted to see. It was a fascinating experience. On the professional front also I made some headway. I hired an agency -- Endeavor -- for managing my career in Hollywood. They are currently handling Matt Demon and Drew Barrymore's work. I wish and I really hope this agency find me a good role in some of the exciting projects happening there. Don't misinterpret this move as a sign of me not being interested to work in India, but if i get a decent role in Hollywood why not?
