Asin celebrates Onam with zest and fervour

The10th day of the harvest festival is here and the southern beauty Asin is celebrating her state festival Onam with zest and fervor. Though the actress is busy shooting for her film, but she has made it a point to celebrate this festival in her own sweet way in Mumbai. Though it is not a bravura of a celebration like the one down South, but a get together with close friends at home accompanied by the customary food for her pals and flower carpet at the entrance of the house makes Asin’s day significant. Later in the day she wants to spend time with her family and friends watching Onam special Malyalam shows on TV. Like every year, this time too, the actress has sent Onam delicacies like Payasam, banana chips to her friends in the industry like Sajd Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandes. According to the actress, remembering those wonderful days spent at her home as a kid in Cochin is always a matter of joy. She used to get up early in the morning before the sunrise, wear the traditional Patpavadas (silk skirts), pluck flowers from the garden to make a flower carpet called attapookalam. She would also help her mother in the kitchen to prepare the traditional dishes like Appam , Payasam, Onasadya among other delicacies that would be served later on a holy banana leaf.
