27 years of Baazigar, the movie that defined SRK as a villain

Baazigar, a movie in which we saw a different shade of SRK, completes 27 years. Here is why we love to see the movie till today.

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan is the most popular actor in the Hindi film industry. The Baadshah of Bollywood has appeared in over 80 Bollywood films. He started his career by appearing in several television serials during 1988-1990 and made his film debut with Deewana (1992). He began to achieve success at the box office for his villainous roles in films such as Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993), and Anjaam (1994).

Fans loved the negative character played by him in Baazigar, and his brilliant acting skills were the talk of the town for a long time.

Directed by Abbas–Mustan, this thriller also had Kajol and Dalip Tahil in the lead roles, while Raakhee, Shilpa Shetty (in her film debut), Siddharth Ray, and Johnny Lever appeared in supporting roles.

The chemistry between SRK and Kajol was also loved in the movie, and the songs were also very well appreciated. In fact, we listen to Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhen even today. Johnny Lever was also hilarious in the film.

The suspense and thrill kept the audiences hooked to the seats till the last scene.

Moreover, many do not know that the movie was loosely based on Ira Levin's 1953 novel A Kiss Before Dying and its 1991 film adaptation of the same name.
