MUMBAI: It has been over a year now since the COVID-19 outbreak and while the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines have begun for healthcare workers and senior citizens, the pandemic isn’t ending anytime soon, it seems.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said that it is 'unrealistic' to expect that the pandemic will get over by the end of 2021.
In the past, several celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Neetu Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor had been infected with the virus, post-which they underwent treatment and eventually recovered from it.
Now reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor has contracted the virus and has tested positive for COVID-19. A source told the portal that the actor is currently under quarantine and is taking rest.
On contacting Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle Randhir Kapoor to ask whether Ranbir tested COVID-19 positive, Randhir Kapoor at first replied with a ‘Yes’. Later, he added that Ranbir is not well, but he isn’t sure about his diagnosis. “I believe he is not well, but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town.”, said Randhir Kapoor.
Last year in December, Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor had tested positive for Coronavirus while shooting for her film Jug Jug Jiyo in Chandigarh. After over a week, her daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared that Neetu Kapoor recovered by testing negative for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which also stars Ranbir’s ladylove Alia Bhatt. Ranbir will also star in Karan Malhotra’s film Shamshera.
