MUMBAI: Telly actress Sriti Jha is an Indian actress who appears on Hindi TV serials.

Jha originally hails from Begusarai (Bihar), but has also stayed in different other cities like Kolkata, Kathmandu (Nepal) and New Delhi. She completed both her boards and graduation (Bachelor of Arts in English from Sri Venkateshwara College) in New Delhi itself.  

Sriti made her debut in the world of showbiz with 2007's teen drama show named Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, that aired on Disney India. She played the role of Malini Sharma therein. Since then, there has been no stopping her regarding bagging both pivotal and poignant characters as either or supporting roles in many popular Hindi television dramas.

The actress has been critically lauded for her natural acting chops that just hit the right vibe of the storyline's tone. Her gestures, body language and expressions absolutely hit the mark and sets the right mood of the ongoing event/ situation/ crisis of her role's concerned moment. Though for a brief span, her cameo role in Balika Vadhu as Dr. Ganga was a pretty notable role of her career.

Sriti Jha has also participated in the dance show Nachle Ve with late and veteran dance-grandmaster - Saroj Khan. 

The actress happens to be one of the highest-paid actresses in the Hindi television industry. As per media reports, she earns around Rs 75k per episode.

1. Dhoom Machaao Dhoom

This was a 2007-08 Indian musical comedy-drama television series aired on Disney Channel India. The story revolved around an all-girls' musical band called the 'Pink Band' and the struggles that were faced by the show's protagonist (band's vocalist and NRI Priyanka Sethi), as well as that of the other band members as well. Sriti made her debut in the industry by playing the role of Malini 'Malu' Sharma, who secretly played the keyboard for the band and Vikrant Massey's character herein was her love-interest. The show is one of the first Disney Channel India Original Series. Many today's notable entertainment and movie actors had debuted in this show along with Sriti like actors Kinshuk Mahajan, Toral Rasputra, Maanvi Gagroo, Vikrant Massey and Jay Bhanushali.

2. Shaurya Aur Suhani

In 2009, Sriti bagged the role of Princess Suhani in Star Plus' fictional love-story - Shaurya Aur Suhani. The show aired on this channel from 21st March 2009. It's storyline primarily focussed on princess Shaurya and warrior Suhani's love story. Shaurya was born to a royal family but he grew up in the jungles, totally unaware of his royal roots and grew up to be a strong and tough man. On meeting with his princess, falling for her and pursuing for the victory of his love story, the show portrayed how true love can kindle amid two human beings belonging from completely different classes, but eventually, they find their way to each other's hearts.

3. Jyoti

Sriti gained immense fame and rose to new prominence with NDTV Imagine's show Jyoti. She played the protagonists' role of Sudha Sharma, who was a split-personality patient. Talking about Jyoti, it was an Indian television series that was based on the real life incident of an anonymous person, who was close to the writer Purnendu Shekhar. The show started airing on 16 February 2009 and it concluded on 27 November 2010. This was a very challenging role for Sriti as well but she performed it with finesse.

4. Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava?

In 2011, Sriti bagged another challenging yet television's iconic role of Jhanvi in one of Life Ok's most-prominent and tensile shows - Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava?. She starred in the show opposite to co-actors Karanvir Bohra and Harshad Chopda (who entered the show in it's last leg). The plot initially revolved around the story of Viraj and Jhanvi, who fell in love and each other and got married. Eventually, Jhanvi discovered that Virat, who is a wealthy and a powerful business tycoon, is actually an over-possessive and abusive man owing to his abusive childhood and can manipulate everybody by making them believe that he is sweet, polite and nice. In the later half, Sriti's character Jhanvi also underwent an upgrade and got transformed into Sia, in order to take shelter from her abusive husband by declaring her former identity of Jhanvi as 'dead'. Harshad played the role of Raghav who was Sia's knight in shining armour and guarded her from her evil former husband.

5. Kumkum Bhagya

Kumkum Bhagya is an Indian drama television series that airs on Zee TV since 2014. The show initially starred Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Shikha Singh, Mugdha Chaphekar, Naina Singh and Krishna Kaul in the lead-roles. In 2020, Reyhna Malhotra replaced Shikha Singh as Aaliya and Pooja Banerjee replaced Naina Singh as Rhea. The show is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility. Initially revolving around the stories of Pragya, Bulbul and their mother Sarla Arora's lives, it later shifted it's focus on the show's protagonist couple - Abhi and Pragya's life, relationship and related hurdles. Sriti portrays the lead role of Pragya herein and is currently playing a mother to her twin daughters - Rhea and Prachi. She is much loved and appreciated for her role herein.
