Today 21 November, 2012 will go up in the books of history because it is today that lone Pakistani surviving terrorist linked to the 26/11 attacks, Ajmal Kasab sent to the gallows in the Yerwada Jail, Pune at 7.30 am. Soon after the news broke out, the entire country broke out rejoicing given the fact that Kasab was eventually hanged after a wait of four years. Tellychakkar.com got in touch with some TV stars to get their reaction on the hanging. Said Manav Gohil, who is currently seen in Channel V’s The Buddy Project, “My reaction is more out of the disappointment at the way some people have reacted to the hanging. His hanging may be a valid emotion if viewed as justice served rather than a revenge taken. I am not sure if his hanging is any sort of a deterrent for the terrorists. It's only a (delayed) validation of our capabilities as a law abiding nation. I also feel the time lapse between the attacks and the punishment has lessened the impact it could have otherwise created. For me, this is an opportunity to check how my heart is feeling. The shallow revenge or a strong and dignified stance of a nation.” Observed Akanksha Singh who was seen last seen in Colors’s Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, “As a matter of fact, he was the culprit behind the terror. Then why the delay of four years to dispense the punishment to him. Did the delay benefit them? Our government has spent crores of rupees on his expenditure. Why? The action was supposed to be taken spontaneously! We should not forget that many more Kasabs are roaming freely in world. Our constitution should be so strong and strict that any intruder should be afraid before getting into any sort of crime. But even if it is late, I am happy that finally he has been sent to gallows.” “The news of hanging of Kasab is a great news for the people of India after waiting for four long years. This had to happen, you can’t just take lives of innocent people and walk away. Right kind of justice has to come out against such terrorism. Well, I don’t think Kasab’s hanging is a slap on terrorism now because it has been a long process. But we hope that action is taken against such crimes as soon as possible,” said Mohit Raina aka Mahadev of Life Ok’s Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. Observed Divyanka Tripathi, who was last seen in an episodic of Star Plus’s Teri Meri Love Stories, “Kasab, being alive was more of a burden and waste of resources for India. These people are brain washed and misguided that they would go to heaven by getting into such acts when they die. But, now his hanging will frighten other terrorists around the world before they get into such sins. I am happy that the government took the decision and I am sure this will set an example for other terrorists.” Lastly Sharad Kelkar added, “Never mind if it is late; finally Kasab has been hanged although this decision should have been taken long ago. People are not rejoicing the way they should have been, had his execution been done earlier. The impact is much lesser now. But, all said and done, it’s a signal to other countries that we can also take some severe action against such terror.”
