Remember telly actor Karan Kapur? No! We don't blame you. The reason being Karan has, till date, made news for non-career reasons; his break up with actress Kiran Dubey. Now the buzz is he has been telling every tom dick and harry that he has done a Hollywood film with none other than Kate Winslet of Titanic fame!
Looking at his career graph, Karan has done a miniscule role in Sony's Ek Ladki Anjani Si and was then gayab from television. His debut film, Rok Sako To Rok Lo was a disaster at the box office and his over delayed film Tum Dil Lekhe Dekho, produced by Poonam Sinha is yet to release.
If his Hollywood feat with the ravishing Kate Winslet is a fact, then we must say that lady luck is smiling at him! Otherwise it is simply hard to digest his Hollywood calling when even the Salmans and Shahrukhs of the industry have not managed so much overseas.
A song that binds Mihir and Abhay
Anuj Saxena and Ronit Roy have never worked together but the title song of Tere Naam is perhaps the common factor. The song was used to highlight the pathos between Anuj Saxena (who played Abhay Kapoor to perfection) and Nausheen Ali Sardar (in Kkusum) and now after the leap in Kyunki... the same song is being used to express the pathos between Ronit Roy aka Mihir who is seprated from his wife Tulsi . We wonder why Balaji never thought of casting the two actors together. It would be a casting coup of sorts if both the actors come together on screen so is Ekta Kapoor listening?
Sudeepa sings her way to Mumbai!
The pretty young thing Sudeepa Singh on Kabhi To Nazar Milao is not only a looker but a good singer too. Not many know that the actor from Amritsar was a winner in Antakshari(in 2004) and went on to becoming one of the top five finalists in Zee's India's Best Cinestar Ki Khoj. Even though she's not a trained singer she has a fascination for Sufi music.
"I can't do without music and have to listen to music before I sleep and I have learnt Sufi music for a short while. Gajendra Singh encouraged me to take part in India's Best after I won Antakshari in Amritsar and that's how I came down to Mumbai and the rest is destiny," smiles Sudeepa who has also been a national level skate player besides being a university topper in Amritsar. The actor loves to hum her favourite song Lambi Judaai(from the film Hero)at every opportunity possible.
Here's a lady who can try her luck at singing if acting doesn't work…
Jabb Love Hua loses a 'b'
We have a keen eye for detail and it didn't take us long to notice that Zee's new show has had a change in its title - Jabb Love Hua has lost one of its 'bs' and now it's called Jab Love Hua! The change, producers point out was due to numerological reasons and we know how important the stars are for television shows these days. Tony and Deeya Singh thus decided not to take any chances and admittedly so. It's not a secret that their earlier show, Jassi Jaisi...was also named based on numerology...and the rest as they say is history!!
Brinda Parekh keeps TV stint under wraps!
Brinda Parekh, the name sounds familiar to those who are avid page 3 browsers. She's well-known in the circles for the tinee-winee outfits she adorns, which are camera friendly. On the career front, Brinda will soon be seen in a cameo in the much awaited Madhur Bhandarkhar film, Corporate. But what not many remember is that this bombshell has also tried her luck with TV.
She has done an item number in Tumhari Disha and has essayed the role of one of Angad's (Iqbal Khan) many girlfriends in Balaji's Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai. But like other TV actors, Brinda too aspired to make it big on the silver screen.
A little birdie told us that Brinda doesn't want to disclose her television act as she doesn't want to ruin her chances of getting offers from Bollywood.
Jaya's tryst with the stars!
The numerology bug seems to be biting television fraternity big time. The latest to join the gang is Shilpa bhabhi of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Jaya Mathur. She now spells her name as Jayaa Mathhur (note the added a and h). Her close pal Lataa Sabharawal adviced her to do so as she felt quite positive after her name change.
Rajev Paul, Delnazz Paul, Sveta Keswani, Moulli Ganguly….the list is endless...It seems that all these TV actors, on whom numerology has cast spell, are out to change the saying, 'What's in a name?'
