Major missing! Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's former actress Disha Vakani's looks as Dayaben makes humour nostalgic

Read on to catch the precious glimpses of former telly actress Disha Vakani, who used to star as the iconic 'Dayaben' in the Hindi television industry's most popular sitcoms of the present-day - Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

MUMBAI: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the superhit Hindi sitcom that has been entertaining almost every single citizen for over a decade now, that too with the same intensity. It is a classic Indian sitcom that airs on SAB TV. The show has garnered massive responses from throughout the country since the very first day it aired on the small screen. Every single character in the hilarious show deserve a big round of applause for their roles, it's exclusive delivery and brilliant on-screen acting chops, added onto which is the show's hilarious plot and their comedy's perfect timing.

What makes the show such a fine sitcom is the diversity in every character's characteristics, their choices, opinions and most importantly, the blending of inter-cultural and inter-faith individuals by residing within the very famous and happy-go-lucky 'Gokuldham' society, which is totally unlike the brutal reality of the divisive society. From Jethalaal's kanjusi to Dayaben's accent, Bhide's pulling of his collar before addressing himself as the society's 'ekameva secretary' to Bapuji's yelling at Jethalaal and Sodhi's 'Oye papaji' BGM to Anjali Bhabi's keto diet plans and lastly, the notorious Tapu Sena's daily shenanigans, everything stays incomplete without Tarak Mehta self-conclusion dialogue after every episode. Yes, this ritual has successfully stayed intact for over a decade now and it simply makes us fans gratified!

Starring Dilip Joshi, Shailesh Lodha, Amit Bhatt, Mandar Chandwadkar, Munmun Dutta, Sunanya Fozdar, Raj Anadkat, Tanuj Mahashabde, Shyam Pathak, Ghanshyam Nayak, Tanmay Vekaria and many others as the leads and parallel leads, this show is successfully running over a decade now, that too as the most beloved Hindi sitcom of this generation.

As for millennial viewers, they were forever obsessed with the Gokuldham Society's antics and shenanigans. Nobody can ever forget the notorious 'Tapu Sena', consisting of our beloved Tipendra Jethalal Gada aka Tapu (Leader), Sonalika Aatmaram Bhide aka Sonu, Gulaabkumar Hansraj Hathi or Goli, Gurucharan Singh Roshan Singh Sodhi aka Gogi and Pankaj Diwan Sahay aka Pinku.

Talking about the show's former actress Disha Vakani, she's simply irreplaceable as the iconic on-screen character Dayaben, who was Jethalal's wife and Tapu's mother. Reports had it that the actress had to quit the show back in 2017 owing to her maternity leave, after which she never returned. Though there were quite some speculations on her return to the show, however, Disha herself took charge to clear the air by dismissing all speculations, which left beyond several heartbroken since the Gada family is totally incomplete without her.

From Dayaben's iconic dialogues like "He Maa Mataji", her recalling of her mother in various moments, her strange accent, starting with her Garba-dancing on random situations, simplicity and her cutely bizarre on-screen chemistry with Dilip Joshi's Jethalal had the fans hooked to the show. Her antics were highly lauded and popularly mimicked by the show's viewers.

Infact, the show did face a lag in its original viewership since she left the show. Owing to the same, rumours of Divyanka Tripathi joining the TMKOC cast onboard by replacing Disha Vakani as the new Dayaben were doing the rounds. However, nothing of such sort happened and the show's makers themselves dismissed these claims.

Even after missing out from the show for over 4 years now, the void that has been left behind by Disha's Dayaben is still strongly felt by everyone related to the show, including it's viewers, cast members and even the makers.

Without any further ado, scroll down to enjoy a nostalgic trip by catching the precious glimpses of former telly actress Disha Vakani, who used to star in TMKOC as the iconic 'Dayaben':
