MUMBAI: Mumbai's Andheri magistrate court has reportedly issued summons to Shilpa Shetty Kundra, her sister Shamita Shetty and their mother Sunanda Shetty against not repaying a loan of Rs 21 lakh to a businessman. The summons was issued to the trio on Friday after an FIR was lodged against them at the Juhu police station. The complaint has been filed by a businessman named Parhad Amra.

Reportedly, the loan was taken by Shilpa and Shamita's father, Surendra Shetty. Parhad, who is reportedly an automobile agency owner, said that Shilpa's father had borrowed the money in 2015. He had allegedly promised to repay it in January 2017, however, the Shettys are now refusing to repay the amount. The loan was allegedly given to Shilpa and her father's firm Corgifts.
Shilpa, Shamita, and Sunanda Shetty have been asked to appear before Metropolitan Magistrate R R Khan on February 28.

In 2019, Parhad had spoken about the alleged loan and said, "All payments were made through cheques drawn in favour of Surendra's firm 'Corgifts'." Reacting to the comment at that time, Shilpa had said in a statement: "I have had no involvement in my late father's business ever and have no knowledge of the financial dealing of the company at all. This gentleman is misleading the media. I knew him in the capacity of our family car mechanic, that's all."
