MUMBAI: Shaadi Mubarak actress Rajshree Thakur is all set to be back on small screens with her brand new show.
The actress has bagged the lead role in Sony TV's upcoming show Appnapan which is produced by Ekta Kapoor's home banner Balaji Telefilms.
This is Rajshree's first collaboration with Ekta Kapoor and the viewers are looking forward to it.
She will be seen opposite Kasauti Zindagi Kay fame Cezanne Khan.
The viewers are already excited to see Cezanne collaborating with Ekta once again after decades for Appnapan.
As the show's date is inching closer, TellyChakkar got in t a fun chat with the actress where she spilt beans about her role and much more.

You are coming after a short break after doing Shaadi Mubarak. What made you say yes to this show?
I am very excited. I was looking forward to doing something like this and I finally got it. This is a very good role. The kinds of roles which I have done before were different. I wanted to do something which excites me character and storywise. I really loved the story of Appnapan. I am playing a mother and people will think it's quite a typical kind of a mom. But it will be different from the kind of mothers shown in daily shows. She is a very strong woman and very balanced. She can go to any extent for her kids. Basically, she is playing a mom and dad for her kids.
After your stint in Shaadi Mubarak, what were your thoughts about getting back in action once again with Appnapan?
I took 5 years break post I delivered my baby. I did not have any offers in my hand at that time. It was a deliberate break which I took for my daughter. But I wanted to be back to work because I can't keep myself away from acting. I wanted to work but at the same time, I was very choosy about my roles. After Saat Phere, it took me a long time to choose the work and finally, I made a comeback with Maharana Pratap. I got offers but there wasn't any role which excited me.
You are playing a chef in the show. What all preparations did you do when you kickstarted the shooting?
We were given proper training for our characters. Luckily, I am a good cook, so that wasn't a new thing for me. But there are certain styles of a chef which needed to be followed. We can't just enact it just the way we do in the kitchen. We were taught about the nuances of a professional chef. I cook food on regular basis but it was a very different experience for me to learn this. The process of learning wasn't challenging but very interesting.
Appnapan will hit the small screens from 15th June onwards.
Rajshree has appeared in shows like Saat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar, Sapna Babul Ka - Bidaai, Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap and Shaadi Mubarak.
