I want to date a man and not a boy: Madhura Naik

Madhura Naik
The eternally beautiful Madhura Naik, who also has a body to die for, rose to fame with her stint in Star One’s Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. Currently she is in high spirits and enjoying this beautiful phase of her life. In a chat with Tellychakkar.com, Madhura talks about her dream role, future plans and much more. Read on…. Your dream role? When young, I was more inclined to doing negative roles, but now I have grown up and become wiser (laughs). I want to now try my hands in the dark space of horror, underworld or female mafia; it should be very different and unique kind of a show on Indian television. Would you like to participate in reality shows? I have already been part of reality shows like Bindass’ Super Dude and Life OK’s Welcome. Now, I am more inclined in doing dance reality shows. Talking about shows like Bigg Boss, I really don’t know if I can fit into that kind of a platform. It’s not that I can’t do such shows, but haven’t given a serious thought about it yet. What do you prefer: live in, love or arranged marriage? For me, love has always been a broader perspective whether it is live in, love or arranged marriage. In relationships, I believe in one word and that is ‘live and let live.’ I also believe in the institution of marriage, but right now I am pretty young to tie the knot. Will you participate in shows like Swayamvar in quest of your Mr right and what qualities should he have? No ways, I can never ever participate in shows like Swayamvar. I have travelled all around the world; witnessed all the cultures and so I know what type of a guy I look up to. When I was 18 years old, I craved for a hot and handsome guy, but now things have changed. I want someone who should be honest and humble. He must take care of me. Finally, I want to date a man and not a boy. We hear you are dating fashion designer Rocky S these days? No ways, he is a very close friend, one with whom I bitch around and share my thoughts. So are you single? (Laughs) Well, I am not talking about it. You have liberty to write anything about me. In the past, I have made it public about my relationship but not this time. I am happy with my space and enjoying this phase of my life. With which TV actor would you like to work in future? Hmm! there is no one in particular, I am a flexible girl. But yes, I want to work with someone who has a theatre experience. In the future, I would like to work with Ram Kapoor as he is a very lively and talented actor. In an interview, Mallika Sheravat said that ‘India is depressing and regressive for women’. Your reaction please? First of all, how can you call your own country depressing? Depression is a state of mind. It was a very stupid statement on Mallika’s part. India is a beautiful country with diverse culture. Down here, people are so warm and welcoming. What do you have to say about Jiah Khan’s suicide at such a young age? Jiah was a friend; I was in shock when I came to know about her suicide. I feel bad for Suraj (Jiah’s BF). Just on the basis of a letter, one can’t blame anyone. Everyone has gone through a tough phase, but you should pull up your pants and live your life. Sometimes you have to live your life alone, but all that you need to have is faith in your inner strength. What are your future plans? Sincerely speaking I want to work behind the camera now and that too as a producer. I am interested in producing youth-based shows; something on teenage issues or on the fashion world. I don’t want to go on the darker side, nothing disturbing and aggressive. So let’s hope for the best.
