MUMBAI: The Odisha Economic Offences Wing (EOW) would soon question Bollywood actor Govinda in conjunction with their investigation into the Rs 1000 crore online Ponzi scheme. According to reports, the actor gave his support to the business that was proven to have perpetrated the pan-India scam.
According to allegations, Solar Techno Alliance, a corporation with operations in a number of nations throughout the world, ran an online Ponzi scheme posing as a cryptocurrency investment plan.
Apparently without the permission of the Reserve Bank of India, the company raised a staggering Rs 1000 crore by collecting deposits from more than 2 lakh people across the nation.
Authorities at the EOW reportedly said that Govinda is neither a suspect nor an accused at this time, according to accounts in the popular press. He will only be questioned as a result of his endorsement of STA in a few videos, and the authorities will utilize his response to attempt and glean more information about the scam.
A team from Odisha EOW will soon arrive in Mumbai to question Govinda about his affiliation with the organization after the actor attended a major event held by STA in Goa in July of this year.
According to the officials, Govinda would be called as a witness in the lawsuit if his involvement in the matter is restricted to endorsing the business in accordance with a legal agreement.
Govinda has not yet made a formal announcement on his role in the matter. In terms of his professional life, Govinda most recently appeared in the 2019 movie Rangeela Raja, in which he had a dual part.
He hasn't appeared in any films for a while, he frequently makes appearances as a special guest on reality shows and events. He previously dazzled the crowd with his signature dance moves at the Filmfare Awards, where he was also spotted shaking a leg with his "Partner," Salman Khan.
