Now, the Los Angeles Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are investigating the case to find out about the source of Ketamine which killed the actor. The DEA is trying to find out how Perry got his hands on so much Ketamine. They are even taking the help of the US Postal Service to find out if the actor received the drugs through mail.
Matthew suffered cardiovascular overstimulation and respiration depression due to the presence of Ketamine in his body. Drowning has been listed as the secondary cause of the Friends actor’s untimely death.
Matthew was known to battle drug addiction for years. He was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for depression but there has been nothing suspicious so far and no arrests have been made. The Ketamine infused in his body as per the medical examiner could not have killed him as it would remain in the body for only 3-4 hours.
Ketamine has been used for many years as medicine and anesthesia. It can cause heightened levels of consciousness, which is why it has led to abuse. When injected, it kicks in within a few seconds or minutes but snorting might take much longer. Overdose can cause deadly respiratory depression by drastically slowing down breathing.
