Hindi movie buffs miss Hera Pheri, Welcome, Chup Chup ke and other good ol' comedies as stand up comedians fail to impress

The audience is having fun with action, thriller, horror and many other genres but there’s not as much of comedy as it is required or used to be. For a variety of reasons, we don’t get to watch comedy like before but what’s more important to note here is that we don’t get to watch comedians like before.
Welcome

This has been a successful way of including comedy so far but things have not been working out so well since a few years. During pandemic, theaters were shut and the audience was introduced to OTT platforms. Exploring the OTT content opened up a completely different world to the audience.

Once the theatres opened up, there were many movies that have been released by now. Not just in theatres but even on OTT there have been many series and movies released but there’s one complaint that the audience has which has been there since a while now.

The audience is having fun with action, thriller, horror and many other genres but there’s not as much of comedy as it is required or used to be. For a variety of reasons, we don’t get to watch comedy like before but what’s more important to note here is that we don’t get to watch comedians like before.

The new gen movies try to take in stand-up comedians for entertainment purpose but forget that these comedians have a reach or effect only in metro cities. Their acts don’t stand up to the requirement and as a result, people still miss Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Kader Khan, Kiku Sharda, Rajpal Yadav and so many other actors who delivered comedy like no other in these times.

Audience are waiting for makers to focus on comedy like how Madgaon Express has been in these recent times.
