MUMBAI : Ananya Panday made her biggest Bollywood debut in Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 alongside Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. It's safe to say that the actress hasn't looked back since, only continuing to grow and shine in the roles and films she has chosen. Bhavana Panday, Ananya's mother, recently discussed how she feels about seeing her daughter face criticism.
Bhavana was questioned about how hard it is for her as a mother to witness her child being scrutinized for everything, from films to fashion, in a chat with a well-known news outlet. In response, she said that it is rather challenging and that it makes her feel "bad and hurt."
She did accept that her child had decided to put themselves up for criticism and it is okay to be judged. While "unnecessary criticism is not okay," Bhavana highlighted that helpful criticism is always preferable because it helps in the growth of everyone.
In an old conversation with PTI, Ananya Panday expressed that if she hadn't been exposed to certain emotions, she probably wouldn't be able to perform in a certain way. She stated that she is grateful for whatever has happened because it has allowed her to express herself through her work.
Ananya also discussed how some criticism can be helpful and valuable input, but she underlined the need to filter out trolling that is useless.
Panday most recently starred with Sidhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan on Netflix. Both reviewers and fans responded well to the film when it debuted, and Panday received praise for her performance.
The actress is currently getting ready for her first debut series, Call Me Bae. The show also stars Mini Mathur, Gurfateh Pirzada, Vir Das, Vihaan Samat, Varun Sood, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, and Lisa Mishra in addition to Panday.
On September 6, 2024, Call Me Bae will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
