MUMBAI : 'Kalki 2898 AD', directed by Nag Ashwin, starred Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone. Actress Mrunal Thakur, who made a cameo appearance in the film, quickly accepted the script. Mrunal revealed what transpired when she was offered the cameo in the multi-starrer.
Mrunal said, “When I was approached for 'Kalki,' I didn't even take a moment to say yes," In the box office hit movie "Sita Ramam," the actress previously collaborated with the film's producers, Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt.
Mrunal further said, “I have immense faith in producers Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka. Our successful collaboration in 'Sita Ramam' made this an easy decision. And being part of this mammoth of a project and this absolute visionary filmmaking was something I knew I had to be part of.”
The movie, which takes place in the post-apocalyptic year 2898 AD, draws inspiration from Hindu texts. The film, which debuted on June 27, is supposed to center on Vishnu's contemporary avatar.
Speaking of Mrunal, she began her career doing television work on shows like "Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan" and "Kumkum Bhagya." In 2018, she made her film debut in Tabrez Noorani's "Love Sonia."
A year later, she costarred with Hrithik Roshan in the biographical films "Super 30" and "Batla House," costarring John Abraham. Her work with Dulquer Salmaan in the "Sita Ramam" was acclaimed.
Her most recent appearance was in Parasuram's romantic action drama "The Family Star." Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda are also featured in it. Her upcoming film, "Pooja Meri Jaan," is helmed by Navjot Gulati.
According to reports, the movie, which also stars Vijay Raaz and Huma Qureshi, centers on Pooja, a young woman who is being followed around by an unknown admirer.
