Srikant Dwivedi is missing winter, says Mumbai has ‘cooler summers’ this time of the year

MUMBAI: Actor Srikant Dwivedi, who recently played the lead in the show Lakshmi Narayan and currently plays the role of Lord Vishnu in the mythological show Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav, says that he is enjoying the hints of winter on the outskirts of Mumbai. The actor, who comes from north India, says that he likes winter. “I come from North India, so I truly understand what winter feels like. In comparison, I would say that Mumbai doesn’t have winters—it’s more like cooler summers. However, on the outskirts of Mumbai, you can feel a pleasant cool breeze. Currently, I’m shooting at a place called Umargaon, and I can confidently say that you can experience some hints of winter here. But within the city of Mumbai, it’s just cooler summers, not winter in the true sense,” he says.

However, this year Mumbai has the warmest winter with 37.3*C in the last 16 years. “Yes, over the last four to five days, we’ve experienced a temperature rise. However, I’m sure it’s gradually going to go down. This change is likely due to some disturbances that Mumbai has recently faced. It’s been said that Mumbai hasn’t experienced such temperatures in the last sixteen years, but I’m sure things will cool down very soon,” hopes the actor. Ask him what he loves about the season, and he says, “One thing I miss the most about no-winter in Bombay is wearing those heavy jackets or overcoats. I love wearing overcoats because they look great on my height. But here, in Bombay, you just can’t wear them, considering the temperature and the fact that we’re in a coastal region. Another thing I miss is having a razai at home, which is mostly needed in the northern parts of India. In Bombay, you don’t need it because it doesn’t get that cold. Here, it’s just simple cool weather, not extreme winter chills.” But he still has his wardrobe planned. “My way of dressing during the mild winters in Bombay is quite simple. I usually wear a T-shirt paired with shorts or sandals, or sometimes with shorts and denim. That’s more than enough for the weather here. If I want to make it a bit more trendy, I add a denim jacket—it looks great and is perfect for Bombay’s mild winters. It’s something you can easily carry and still look stylish.”

He adds, “To look stylish and stay comfortable during the winter season in Bombay, I believe the key is layering. As I mentioned before, pairing a t-shirt with denim shorts or a denim jacket works well. You can also add some black or blue denim for a more complete look. Another option is wearing gorka pants, which also look cool and are great for the winter season. This style keeps you comfortable while still looking trendy in the mild winter weather here. Another styling tip I have is wearing white or baggy pants with a hoodie. It looks quite cool and gives a relaxed vibe. You can also try different colours for a fun, stylish look. That would be my tip for staying comfortable and looking good during the winter season in Bombay.”
