MUMBAI: This was the first time ever that Mithoon and Palak came together to perform live. There was a lot of buzz around their performance at the Zee Cine Awards, as it was a collaboration of two of the most powerful forces in the music industry.
Palak is known and loved across the world for her nuanced vocal expressions and her command over pitch-perfect renditions. Her unique style of singing is deeply rooted in the Indian film tradition. She has been carrying forward the legacy of sanctified Indian Film Music for over a decade and continues to garner appreciation and love not only for her super-hit Bollywood songs but also for her mastery in live concerts.
She was matched for the first time with Mithoon’s Midas touch. The maestro Mithoon reimagined the classics of Raj Kapoor and Manoj Kumar in his own signature style. He presented these evergreen songs in a never-heard-before avatar with 50 musicians — not imports, but members of our very own Hindi Film Orchestra.
