MUMBAI: Earlier in the day, TellyChakkar.com broke the news about actress Megha Prasad replacing Roopam Sharma as Sonalika in Kumkum Bhagya. Sonalika's character is one of the negative characters of the show who is against Prarthana and Shivansh's love story.
While Megha confirmed the buzz about stepping in as the new Sonalika in the show, we also got in touch with Roopam Sharma and asked her about her exit from Kumkum Bhagya.

In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Roopam said, "Well, I had other commitments. We were working on the dates and sorting out availability, but things didn't materialize and thus I decided to quit the show. Initially, my track was on and off but now, the character will be required quite often and thus I had to take the decision."
Roopam Sharma was last seen in Star Plus show Teri Meri Dooriyaann.
Megha Prasad who was a part of Bhagya Lakshmi will be seen stepping into Roopam's shoes as Sonalika. Prasad is slated to begin shooting for the show soon.
Confirming the buzz with TellyChakkar, Megha said, "Confirming the news, Megha said, "I am very grateful to God and to Balaji. This is my third show with Balaji in a row and I feel a kind of responsibility. They have been very kind to me."
