MUMBAI: Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s personal lives have been making headlines once again. The two tied the knot in 2020, but their marriage came to an end with a finalized divorce in March 2025. While both have refrained from directly targeting each other, they haven’t shied away from responding indirectly through interviews and public appearances.
Dhanashree, who is currently seen on the reality show Rise and Fall, recently made a shocking revelation, claiming that she was cheated on just two months after her marriage. Following her statement, Yuzvendra Chahal has now reacted to the allegations.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the cricketer addressed the claims, firmly stating that he is a sportsperson and does not cheat.
"I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat. Agar koi two months mein hi cheat karta toh itna lamba relationship chalta kya? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved forward with my life and everyone else should do, too." ("I am a sportsperson, and I don’t cheat. If someone had cheated within just two months, would the relationship have lasted this long? For me, that chapter is over — done and dusted. I’ve moved on with my life, and everyone else should too.)
"Agar two months mein cheat hua hota toh kaun continue karta? Main pehle bhi bol chuka hun ki mai past se nikal chuka hun. But some people are still stuck there. Abhi bhi kai log uss cheez ko pakde hue hain, abhi bhi unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai toh they can continue doing that. I am not concerned or affected."
(If cheating had happened within two months, who would have continued the relationship? I’ve said it before — I’ve moved on from my past. But some people are still stuck there. Even now, many are clinging to that issue, and their homes are still running on my name. They can keep doing that if they want; I’m neither concerned nor affected.)
