MUMBAI: Actress Donal Bisht, who gained fame with television hits like Ek Deewaana Tha, Roop and Tu Zakhm Hai gets eminence love from Bollywood too. Known for her elegant screen presence and compelling performances, Donal tells she keeps getting lot of offers but believes that choosing the right first film is crucial for anyone transitioning from TV to films.
Reflecting on her journey, Donal shares, “Your first project sets the tone for your career, so it needs to be the right one. I was among the few shortlisted for two big-budget films like Laal Singh Chaddha and Ramayan, but those roles went to others. I was told they fit better from a marketing perspective. Still, I was happy and proud that they considered me.”
After years of successful television work and her stint on Bigg Boss 15, Donal decided to take a leap of faith into films. She has already completed two South Indian projects and an international film. She says cinema offers a magical world where stories can be told on a larger canvas and characters can be explored in depth.
Donal admits that moving from TV to films especially Bollywood comes with challenges, but she is determined to carve her own space. “Television gave me recognition and taught me discipline, but Bollywood gives you a different kind of creative satisfaction,” she explains.
The actress hopes to collaborate with visionary filmmakers who focus on strong characters and meaningful cinema. For Donal, it’s not just about glamour—it’s about growth, substance, and connecting with audiences on a bigger scale.
