MUMBAI: Veteran actor Dharmendra, often affectionately called the 'He-Man' of Indian cinema, is now resting at his Mumbai residence following a health scare that required him to be hospitalised.
The 89-year-old star was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital a few days before October 31, 2025, after reportedly experiencing issues related to breathlessness and age-related concerns.
He remained under medical supervision for several weeks, receiving treatment.

During his hospital stay, a wave of false and unverified reports regarding his health, including rumours of his passing and being on ventilator support, spread across social media.
This prompted his family to step in and address the public. His wife, the veteran actress Hema Malini, and his daughter Esha Deol issued statements to assure fans that the actor was stable and recovering and urged the public to refrain from circulating misinformation.
Dharmendra was officially discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and is currently continuing his treatment and recovery at home.
A source close to the family confirmed the positive progress to NDTV, stating, "Dharmendra is feeling better than earlier.
He is fine, doing better than earlier." Furthermore, Dr Rajiv Sharma from the hospital noted that the legendary star had left the facility "fully satisfied" after receiving the required medical care.
His family members, including his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, were seen frequently visiting the hospital.
Following his return home, his elder son, actor Sunny Deol, was visibly frustrated by the constant presence of the paparazzi outside their residence.
He appealed for respect and privacy during this emotional time, famously confronting the photographers and stating, "Don't you feel any shame?"
Many prominent personalities from the film industry showed their support. Superstars Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Govinda visited the actor in the hospital to check on his well-being.
Following his return home, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also paid a visit to express his well-wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.
The entire Indian cinema community continues to send prayers and heartfelt messages for the veteran's continued improvement.
