MUMBAI: Noted choreographer Saurabh Prajapati has recently worked with rapper Divine who has reimagined the 1975 track 'Mehbooba Mehbooba' (the song is called You & I) from the cult film Sholay. Talented choreographer Saurabh has choreographed the video and he shares his thoughts on the experience.
“When I heard the song the very first time within 5 seconds I knew it is a hit song. The cult song mixed with Divine’s rap was a great a combination. I was super excited for this project from day one.”
India’s youngest choreographer also adds,”The song features Kalyani Priyadarshini and Divine. I just loved their energy. It was so much fun working with them. This was the first time we collaborated together. I have worked with Badhshah and Yo Yo Honey singh in the past and now Divine is also added in that list of rappers.”
Saurabh also shares the hook step of the song. “When i heard the song - the first thing that came to me was about the hook step and it should be in mehboob oh mehbooba part. I wanted to give something very stylish and cool at the same time it should be easy to do for everyone. I am happy that it implemented well on camera. I'm getting so much love from everywhere, the song has got really good views. I personally love Divine’s rap he is the OG, his lyrics are so powerful always. I have noticed he talks about reality, his real life incidents which inspires everyone and that's why people love divine for his authenticity.”
