Lauren, Mukti and Sana will reach the finale: Karan Patel

Karan Patel
Karan Patel, who starred in the Kasturi series on Star Plus between 2007 and 2009, is not very happy with his outings in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 (Colors). “Indeed I am not performing well and guess that we are lacking somewhere in terms of delivery. But I am hopeful that things will take a turn for the better soon,” he quips. What do you feel about the comments of the judges? “They are not very harsh for they don’t want to put one down. But at the same time, they are very strict in their markings and also point out our flaws. I feel it’s good for our growth,” Karan observes. When asked about the positives and negatives of getting in as a wild card entry, Karan avers, “It is a mixed bag. For example, if we come in as a wild card entrant, we come midway after 4/5 contestants have already been eliminated. Had we been there from the start, maybe we could have been among the lucky few. On the flip side though, since when we enter late, the bar has already risen high and we need to catch up in quick time but we don’t have time for a trial and error method of checking out things.” However, Karan smartly refuses to comment on the eliminated wild card entry Mantra’s assertion that the voting process could be more transparent. “I have been in the bottom two twice, once with Mantra and the second time with someone else. But as far voting goes, I have no idea as that is something what the channel or production house ( BBC Worldwide) decide,” he informs. Karan was also quite honest to admit that as of now he does not think that he will make it to the top three. “It is very tough to get there. I feel that Lauren Gottlieb, Mukti Mohan and Sana Saeed are the most talented and I am sure that they will surely the reach the finale or come very close to it,” he maintains. He also rejects the buzz that Siddharth Shukla has been surviving in the competition only due to his popularity (of Balika Vadhu) . “This kind of thinking is very wrong. It is his luck that he got to take part in a reality show on the same channel where he is essaying a popular character in another show. Also, one needs to understand that he must have worked hard to win the hearts of the audiences. Tomorrow if I do a reality show and a fiction on the same platform, will that mean that I am just marching ahead due to the popularity of my character in the other show? No.” Karan asks. The actor, who has also taken part in shows like Survivor India last year, also ignores the barbs of the fans of Drashti Dhami who got agitated due to his scripted taunt at her. “I don’t really bother about them. Look, those who matter don’t mind while those don’t mind, matter. Drashti, Siddharth and I hang out a lot together. Whatever happens on the show is not meant to be taken home, it is to be taken with a pinch of salt,” Karan answers with a wink. We wish Karan all the best!!!
