The enormous success of the Indian Premier League has brought a major fall in viewership for all television serials. It's already spelt doomsday for Hats Off productions' Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi. This weekend-show will be pulled off air from this week. Confirming the news, producer JD Majethia says,"Yes, Chaldi.. is going off air. It's a mutual decision taken both by the channel and us to pull off the show. Prior to the IPL, Chaldi.. was generating a TRP of over 1.6 but it's now dropped to 1.3. However, the drop in TRPs isn't the sole reason to pull the plug. Chaldi.. couldn't match up vis-?-vis our other hit shows." Chaldi.. may be gone but JD's already contemplating a new show for Zee. He says "We've already given them a new script. We wanted to give them (the channel) a better show and I'm sure they will like the new script." Let's hope JD's new script doesn't hit any roadblock like Chaldi…
