We called up the spunky actor Shruti Seth to find out about the long pending serial we learnt she had signed on for Edit II, slated for Zee Next. She did not wish to speak about it as the launch of the channel was held up but we tumbled upon her recent jaunt to Singapore, courtesy Singapore Tourism Board. "Yes," she smiles, "it was a fully paid 3-day holiday and I had a blast all by myself checking out nightclubs, visiting tourist spots and shopping." She witnessed the Singapore Shopping Festival and even took part in the Singapore Shopping Challenge where she had to spend a budget amount effectively. Recollecting the experience she says, "One can actually see how chaotic you can get shopping. Retail therapy becomes a sport with everyone trying his/her best to fulfill the challenge." She was last seen in Yashraj Films Fanaa as Kajol's best friend and Shararat on Star Plus. She has also acted in Pakistani serials shot in Dubai. There a few tv offers in the pipeline and she assured she would announce the moment she signs on the dotted line. She packed in so much within three days by shopping for clothes for her brother and household items besides a mini DVD camera. She found the city bustling with activity and eager shoppers since you get to buy things really cheap. "I bought the camera for 349 Singapore dollars which would otherwise cost 643 Singapore dollars," gushes Shruti. But how enjoyable was it by herself? Did she miss having a companion? "Travelling alone is sometimes so nice, you can do things at your pace. It was a wonderful getaway and I thoroughly enjoyed this surprise holiday," signs off Shruti.
